North Vietnam Family Tour

Overview

This tour is designed for families who want to explore the natural and cultural wonders of North Vietnam. You will start in Hanoi, the capital city, where you will visit historical and cultural sites and enjoy a water puppet show. Then you will head to Cuc Phuong National Park, where you will stay in a bungalow and see endangered primates. Next, you will go to Ninh Binh, where you will take a boat trip to Tam Coc and Bich Dong, known for their stunning limestone caves and scenery. Finally, you will cruise on Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and marvel at the majestic rock formations and islands. This tour will give you a memorable experience of North Vietnam’s beauty and diversity.

Itinerary

Arrive in Hanoi, meet our tour guide at the airport, and transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight at a hotel in Hanoi

Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum ( closed on Mon/ Fri and the entire month of October and November), his former residence, One–Pillar Pagoda, and the Museum of Ethnology (closed on Monday). Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to visit the Temple of Visit Hoian Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple. Explore Old Quarter during a 1-hour cyclo ride. Free for shopping.
In the evening you will attend the performance of the famous Vietnamese traditional art of water puppetry at ThangLong Theatre. Accommodation in Hanoi.

Set out early for the drive to Cuc Phuong (approx. 3-4hrs). This is a treat for children as Cuc Phuong is Vietnam’s oldest National Park and is home to an amazing variety of wildlife. Upon arrival, settle into the bungalows located within the lush forests before a visit to the Endangered Primate Rescue center. Here, the children will learn about the work that is being done to preserve the endangered native primates. Overnight at a bungalow guesthouse in Cuc Phuong.

What a magical way to start the day – with the sounds of the forest all around! After a hearty breakfast bid the hosts goodbye and set off into the center of the forest and commence a half-day trek through lush rainforest and to caves once inhabited by prehistoric humans. Afternoon, drive to Ninh Binh. On arrival, check in hotel and at leisure to relax or take a fun cycling trip to the ricefields or villages nearby. Overnight at a hotel in Ninh Binh.

After breakfast, we drive to Tam Coc and board a small sampan to visit Tam Coc which means literally “three caves” (2-hour boat trip). With Halong bay-type views of majestic limestone cliffs and mysterious caves, as well as countryside landscapes like peaceful streams, rice paddies, and deserted green fields, Tam Coc really has it all. You will feel the fresh air and peaceful moments, very good opportunities for photo lovers, freezing the special moments and scenery.
We also visit the Bich Dong pagoda nearby and climb up the mountain to have a wonderful perspective view of the Bich Dong and Tam Coc.
Later in the afternoon, we will leave Ninh Binh and return to Hanoi. Dinner at a restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Halong. Arrive in Halong, boarding a cruise to visit Halong Bay, one of Vietnam’s greatest natural wonders, and was recognized as World’s Natural Heritage by UNESCO. Lunch on the boat. Visit Dog Islet, Incense Burner Islet, Hoa Cuong Floating Village, Fighting Cocks Islet and Thumb Islet, and Sung Sot Cave.

Breakfast on a cruise. Continue to discover Ha Long Bay by boat trip. Having brunch meal (not lunch). The cruise will back to the pier at noon time, pick up, and back to Ha Noi. Dinner at a restaurant. Overnight at a hotel in Hanoi

Breakfast at the hotel and time at leisure until we transfer you to Hanoi airport for your departure flight home.
