Overview

This 20-day caravan tour covers many of the highlights of Northern and Central Vietnam. The tour starts at the Tay Trang border and visits Dien Bien, Sapa, Bac Ha, Ha Giang, Meo Vac, Ban Gioc, Ba Be, Lang Son, Ha Noi, Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Vinh, Phong Nha, Dong Ha, Hoi An, Pleiku, and ends at Le Thanh Border. The tour includes visits to natural landscapes, cultural and historical sites, and local markets. Optional activities include visiting Fansipan Mountain, the Lung Cu Flag Tower, the Ban Gioc Waterfalls, and the Dong Van Karst Steteau Geopark. The tour also includes boat trips on Ba Be Lake and Ha Long Bay. Accommodation is provided in hotels and homestays, and meals are served at local restaurants.

Day 1 :

Tay Trang Border - Dien Bien (-/-/D)

(Distance 35 km ~ 1 hour riding)
Meet at the Tay Trang border and transfer to Dien Bien. Free time in Dien Bien.
Optional: Visit Dien Bien Phu Museum. A1 Hill, cemetery, bunker headquarters of the French commander, Memorial.Check-in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Dien Bien.

Day 2 :

Dien Bien - Sapa (B/L/D)

(Distance 300 km ~ 7 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Sapa. En route visit many natural beautiful landscapes. Also having lunch en route. Arrive at Sapa, and check in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3 :

Sapa (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional: Visit Fansipan Mountain. Take the cable car to visit the highest top mountain in Indochina. Back to Sapa, lunch at a local restaurant.
PM: Visit Ham Rong mountain and Sapa town.
Dinner at a local restaurant.
Accommodation at the hotel in Sapa.

Day 4 :

Sapa - Bac Ha (B/L/D)

(Distance 110 km ~ 3 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Bac Ha. Also having lunch en route. Arrive at Bac Ha, check-in hotel. Bac Ha has a famous local market but it only opens on Sundays. You could explore area beautiful landscape around this place. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Accommodation at the local hotel or homestay in Bac Ha.

Day 5 :

Bac Ha - Ha Giang (B/L/D)

(Distance 145 km ~ 4,5 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Ha Giang. En route visit many natural beautiful landscapes. Also having lunch en route. Arrival, check-in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Ha Giang.
Optional: Visit Lung Cu Flag Tower, H’Mong King’s Palace, and Pao’s House.

Day 6 :

Ha Giang - Meo Vac (B/L/D)

(Distance 160 km ~ 5,5 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Meo Vac. En route visit many natural beautiful landscapes. Also having lunch en route. Arrival, check-in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Meo Vac.
Optional: Visit Dong Van Karst Steteau Geopark.

Day 7 :

Meo Vac - Ban Gioc Waterfall (B/L/D)

(Distance 300 km ~ 8,5 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Ban Gioc. En route visit many natural beautiful landscapes. Also having lunch en route. Arrival, check-in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Optional: Visit Ban Gioc Waterfalls.

Day 8 :

Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake (B/L/D)

(Distance 200 km ~ 5,5 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Ba Be. En route visit many natural beautiful landscapes. Also having lunch en route. Arrival, check-in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Ba Be.
Optional: Take a boat trip to visit Ba Be Lake.

Day 9 :

Ba Be Lake - Lang Son (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Lang Son. En route visit many natural beautiful landscapes. Also having lunch en route. Arrival, check-in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 10 :

Lang Son - Ha Noi (B/L/D)

(Distance 160 km ~ 4 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Ha Noi, via Bac Son. En route visit many natural beautiful landscapes. Also having lunch en route. Arrive in Ha Noi, and stop at the parking area nearby Ha Noi center. Pick up then transfer to the hotel downtown for check-in. Dinner at a restaurant.

Day 11 :

Ha Noi - Ha Long Bay (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Ha Long Bay. Arrival Ha Long takes a boat trip to discover Halong Bay - one of the UNESCO World Heritage Centres in Vietnam. Continue to discover the beautiful nature of Halong Bay. Lunch & dinner on board. Overnight on cruise in Halong Bay. (joining boat – private cabin).

Day 12 :

Ha Long Bay - Ha Noi (B/Br/D)

Breakfast on the boat. Continue to discover Halong Bay by boat trip. Back to the Pier at about 12:00 PM. Transfer back to Ha Noi. Dinner at a restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Ha Noi.
Optional: Enjoy a water puppet show in Ha Noi.

Day 13 :

Ha Noi - Ninh Binh (B/L/D)

(Distance 100 km ~ 3 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Ninh Binh. Lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy the landscape of Ha Long Bay on land. Check-in hotel. Dinner at a restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Ninh Binh.
Optional 1: Visit Trang An complex by boat.
Optional 2: Visit Tam Coc cave & Bich Dong Pagoda by boat.

Day 14 :

Ninh Binh - Vinh (B/L/D)

(Distance 200 km ~ 5,5 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Vinh City, Nghe An Province. Lunch at a local restaurant. Ride to the beach. Check-in hotel. Dinner at a restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel at the beach.

Day 15 :

Vinh - Phong Nha (B/L/D)

(Distance 260 km ~ 5,5 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Quang Binh. Having lunch enroute. Arrival, check-in hotel.
Optional: Take a boat trip to visit Phong Nha Cave or Thien Duong Cave.
Dinner at a restaurant.
Accommodation at the hotel at the beach.

Day 16 :

Phong Nha - Dong Ha (B/L/D)

(Distance 150 km ~ 3 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Dong Ha, Quang Tri Province. Having lunch enroute. Arrival, check-in hotel. Free to relax in the afternoon. Dinner at a restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel at the beach.
Optional 1: Visit Khe Sanh military base.
Optional 2: Visit the Ancient Citadel of Quang Tri.

Day 17 :

Dong Ha - Hoi An (B/L/D)

(Distance 220 km ~ 4,5 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Hoi An, via Hue. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue the ride to Hoi An. Arrival, check-in hotel. Dinner at a restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Hoi An.
Optional 1: Visit the Imperial Citadel in Hue and some of the Tomb.
Optional 2: Visit Hoi An Ancient town including Phuc Kien Hall, the Japanese Bridge, Old house.

Day 18 :

Hoi An (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. Lunch & dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Hoi An.
Optional 1: Transfer to visit My Son Sanctuary.
Optional 2: Transfer to visit Ba Na Hills. Take the cable car on top and visit Golden Bridge.

Day 19 :

Hoi An - Pleiku (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Pleiku. Having lunch enroute. Arrival, check-in hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel in Pleiku.

Day 20 :

Pleiku - Le Thanh Border (B/-/-)

(Distance 75 km ~ 2 hours riding)
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Le Thanh Border. Our guide will assist you to make all clearance procedures to check out Vietnam.
End of the program in Viet Nam.
